The shop rate is around $150/hr (assuming you are out of the 4 years of free maintenance on the bmw). When you get laid off and are looking for contract work as an well educated engineer, the ceos /vp's of companies like the Q think that paying you $50/hour is still too much and is always looking for a bargain in bangalore. But hey, I guess they don't mind dropping $150/hr at the dealership for their prized toys.... So obviously, in their mind, you bright well educated engineers are clearly not as important as that guy changing his/her porsche's/ BMW's oil.
