Thread regarding Chevron Corp. layoffs

Chevron Leadership and accountability

Th current group of senior executives have so terribly mis-managed, mis-fired and totally missed the ball on every 'decision' that collective group has made. Good ole team full of MBA's, politicatal geniuses, prideful & power hungry ego's are the cause of everything we are experiencing currently...and its not going to change. Selling asset after asset (after the folks who KNOW what the oil and gas business is all about) that were developed by a team 25% of the size of the teams currently in position. Betting the farm on LNG projects (Angola engineering fail amd we all know about the Australia fiasco...55 billion plus and climbing each DAY). I had to explain what a flange was to an engineer...and engineer who is 2 PSG's above me. This is all to common across the enterprise...power hungry people, throwing anyone and everyone away for their gain who know NOTHING about this industry...and nothing has been done or will be done about it.

I think you all forget that O'Riely and Kirkland got us in this mess and they are both retired with their big retirement packages. Watson just inherited the BAD decision that Kirkland made. Kirkland made a lot of bad decisions because he was not trained in business. So layoff the MBA's they actually understand how to save all this, ops, Chevron management never listens to anyone, so Chevron is getting what the deserve from a history of BAD managers. I say dump the whole lot and start over.

Unfortunately the leaders that are responsible for the actions that put chevron into this position which cannot weather the dramatic drop in crude prices can stand up and be accountable and still not being financially impacted to the degree in which the common employee will be. But then again they will not be held accountable, the letter to the Houston mayor ref the external forces as the reason to layoff Houston based employees and did not state any internal factors as the cause. That is not taking accountability that is scapegoating in its purest form.

All the LNG projects are fiascos! They just don't learn. And I know they are looking into more.

This is exactly the kind of people that are worth working with and giving our support to.
