Ineq is marching with Hal, kicking Sperry out!
I am assuming that Inteq is doing fine after the 1st quarter layoff. International rig counts aren't down by as much. And with Inteq and schlum winning the contracts Sperry is losing overseas, the surplus employees get sent out to keep busy. Example is Baker winning a big multi-service contract in Norway. With a Halliburton announcement made a few weeks later that they were laying off more than 100 Sperry employees in Norway. thats my speculation.
that sparks a curious question, ..... what is the general consensus regarding the layoff numbers in Halliburton's MWD/LWD Sperry VERSUS BAKER's INTEQ ? ....... have the reductions in each been fairly even? ........Reduction numbers at Sperry's WMD/LWD/??? Consider, surely halliburton WOULD NOT take the business opportunity to thin out or perchance cripple what will be a competitor in the sometime near future? plus, ohmygaawwwwd, i'm sure the watchful eyes of the regulators would be all over that. uh-yeah, .....What's going on over at pillsbury BAKER within INTEQ? reduction numbers?......would they be afforded perhaps any measure of protected status due to HAL's plan to bring them under the big red wing. Not hearing any talk of the numbers between the outgoing and incoming divisions only spiteful banter back and forth. Wassssszuuuup?
The big idea is that we are keeping more of our jobs because of the sale while we watch Baker thrash about trying to keep their heads above water. Bwahahaha. Ol Red's hands are tied on that one by the DOJ. Get this straight, we'll be celebrating after the sale closes, you'll be walking in the door with your tail between your legs still wondering if you should show up. We are fed up with paying for the red beuracracy and will be glad to let them put their red coveralls on you.
8129 cracks me up. The simplicity of pumping money into R&D will solve all of Sperry's problems. Yes yes, get our best & brightest people into R&D, Ta da. Why didn't I think of that?

I'm sorry, but I am wrestling with the first post. Let me see if i get this translation right. Next big idea? ha ha ha, is a sarcastic laugh. next topic, So, when sperry is finally spun off and sold to the bidder, this new owner will be "pumping?" R&D money into sperry's budget, ?? So with that influx of cash sperry will have an intellectual orgasmic phantasm and begin to spawn these terrific ideas, that actually get out of the see how much I know discussion phase, Upon achieving these product development milestones and turing themselves around, Halliburton will then get all pouty lipped and sulk-eyed and regret the decision to spin the sperry off. just a guess.
Can't wait to see Baker mgmt. explaining to Hal winning contracts that lose money makes sense.....would love to be fly on the wall there.
aye, and don't be a'forgettin' to patent that stroke of genius when the time come. rest assuredly sperry will thrive and blossom from the caterpillar to the beautiful butterfly.
