I understand what you have written - filthy low blow.

I used to report to him indirectly - he was two levels above me.

There are so many useless arrogant ah** who are VP's in QC. Sudeepto is an exception to the generic QC VP - One who genuinely cares for the well being of folks in his group.

I wish it was him and not Mr. YC who heads Qualcomm CE now.

It's great that QCOM could keep him.

I think he was a VP in engineering. From what i have seen (with a lot of my friends) anyone moving from eng to product management is always put in one or two level lower. I don't believe this related to any kind of demotion per se or HR trying to fix issues at VP level. It is a lateral move... Most probably initiated by the vp... 17 years in eng is a long time....
