Thread regarding Sears layoffs

Full Time Leads Layoffs

Several months ago i heard they where going to eliminate full time leads, but thought no friggin way. On Monday, I heard from a fellow employee he was laid off along with 2 others in our Kmart. I guess the rumor mill was truthful this time. It will be interesting considering they cut hours due to budget constraints, then complain things are not being done. You can not have it both ways, but that is something corporate does not understand. It will be interesting at work tomorrow.

I used to work in a top producing Kmart store in a California town and I can tell you first hand that the management didn't give a shit about anything and the store was ran and treated like shit. Sears/Kmart corporation don't take care of their stores at all! And this includes the top performing stores. They treat their top performing stores just like any of the other Kmart and Sears stores out there.

Who ever posted that stores that produce are well taken care of is full of it. Can't understand why no one jumps at the chance to work there? Open your eyes! I work at a profitable store, and we haven't had raises in 6 years. Wake up and get out like I'm about to!

In this area many of the full time positions were eliminated. Mine was one of them. Lost our office manager, HBA lead, Pantry lead and hard home/ soft home lead. Out of jobs because no positions were available.

I am afraid you are being led astray - my store has gained additional full-time personnel over the last year. If a store produces, it is well taken care of. The biggest problem we have is the lack of individuals wanting to work forty hours at minimum wage. Funny how no one is jumping at the bit for such an opportunity with a national unemployment rate still above 5%. One successful store will not save the company, however, with a $1.2 trillion debt payment due in April 2016...
