Anyone know how much managers and directors got as bonuses if they could force long-term and older employees to quit so that QC wouldn't have to pay them severance plus WARN Act benefits?

yes HR are (allegedly) just mindless drones defending the company line. It's (allegedly) quite the cult. There's no reason HR (outside of staffing) can't be replaced by a simple FAQ or Wiki. All the answers in the FAQ would (allegedly) be like: "Sorry, the employee is always wrong", "Please consider resigning", and "It's your fault -- Maybe you shouldn't dress so provocatively"
QC HR just executes what top executives tell them to do, no? By the way I'm not HR.
Qualcomm HR is allegedly the most corrupt, unethical, sycophantic group of corporate lackeys in the industry. That is allegedly what is known as "The Qualcomm Way"
I am actually one of those older people who was PIP'ed out. Just to let everyone know that it really does happen. Take notes now. I wish I did. HR and management worked in concert. Don't for a second believe HR is there to help. Certainly not QUALCOMM HR. Allegedly. That should save me a legally.
OP bonus for top perform pr 3x staff at same rating.
Can't wait for them to put me on pip instead of layoff.
@323 -- sounds like there is truth to it based on many of the previous posts here.
@Anon323: hasn't that been QCOMs M.O. For a while now?
Replacing well paid Americans with cheap labor Indians again. It's the QC way.
this is part of Q and practicing culture at Q
Unfortunately, this is pretty common practice used at Q
True. But with older workers that can be legally problematic. Especially if someone who has a history of excellent reviews is suddenly downgraded.
@Anonymous139232, you said it perfectly. This is really happening. It's hard to believe but things like this occur here at Qualcomm. The mechanisms that QC uses to terminate people both disturbing and illegal.
I would recommend seeing a lawyer if you are one of these people. Make sure to take notes if you haven't started already.
They can just PIP them out for phony reasons with unconditional help from HR.
