Unfortunately everyone I've talked to is down. I'm taking the steps needed to get out now. I don't want to be the store Director when Follett loses this contract.
Are all down.
Sales up? Ha ha! That that can't be further from the truth
Sales up across the division. Text management excellent - right book at the right place at the right time. DG knows his 4 p's. Product, placement, price and promotion.
torrent- porn and text. Mr. Huxley couldn't have known.
As a former Neebo store, this is the most ridiculous thing I have seen. 25% more textbook stock in the store and our sales are down 40% compared to previous 2 fall rush periods. Students come in, see our 'rental' prices and walk out laughing. We can pitch them on price match, but they want the savings up front (not on a gift card- FYI Neebo tried this a few years ago and it failed).
I have never posted before but have been following this board since the transition (heard about it from current Follett manager).
Don't forget the 'Star Wars' events, yippee & don't forget the barchart selling contest
Enrollment is down, least amount of books on the shelves ever, rental prices are no longer a good incentive, only $10 less than purchasing a new book?? How is that?? New MMS system is going to be a nightmare on inventory, registers keep freezing, rush is a trip.
We get students who bit torrent their books. Otherwise sales are bad, more stock than ever, but fewer students as well.
Where do your student employees buy their textbooks? 90% of mine purchased from Amazon, not one purchase from the bookstore. What does that tell you!
Omg. Curious George readings? Wtf?
