Thread regarding University of Phoenix layoffs

Selling the American Dream Scam

Blaming those who take out loans to go to University of Phoenix is biting the hand that feeds everyone at Apollo Group and University of Phoenix. At this point, anyone still recruiting at UoPX is complicit--there is no redemption at this point in the company's history. Teaching at UoPX is understandable, but it's increasingly less noble. And the truth is, Apollo Group and University of Phoenix have bought Al Sharpton, the NAACP, the Black Chambers, Larry Fitzgerald, Phylicia Rashad, Boys & Girls Club, and the Thurgood Marshall Foundation....................................................https://www.insidehighered.com/news/2014/11/17/u-phoenix-and-hbcu-alliance-draws-skepticism.............................................It's a form of cynical racism and classism that is very old--using black elites and black organizations to con their brothers and sisters. I'm still guessing Todd S. Nelson was instrumental in making UoPX a racist organization long before they established these "business" relationships--but that it has been covered up....................................... http://www.eeoc.gov/eeoc/newsroom/release/11-10-08.cfm

Anonymous142158- I'm sure piling 5 or 6 digits worth of debt is going to help.

@935 - you're just ridiculous. You're statement then applies to all schools because non are really generating surprising results unless you are at an Ivy League. And even then, it's mainly because students attending ivys are already in the elite group of people where it's mainly a status thing rather than actually attending for personal growth. their destiny is already pre-determines to be the next generation of the 1%. Access to education is necessary and not only the elite should have this privilege. This means UOP, and the State schools need to continue progressing the average person from being just a regular to increasing them to elites to 2%, 3%, 4%. We need to find a better balance of those at the top, middle and bottom but the bottom shouldn't be digging out of trash cans, living on the streets and without proper healthcare

When the housing bubble burst and the bad actors in the industry were charged and prosecuted, the government didn't just go after the heads of these unscrupulous real estate firms. Everyday real estate agents, who were turning a blind eye to the unethical actions of their employer because they needed a paycheck, were also charged and prosecuted. Current EA's who are "just following orders" are not immune to criminal investigations. Get out now before you are walked out in handcuffs alongside the managers and executives who are knowingly and complicity committing fraud.

I'd rather be cash poor and have a clear conscience than "earn" a living as a snake oil salesman.

@Anonymous140180, if you are a recruiter, do you really need a job that badly? For people like Anonymous140180, if you still are a recruiter, how do you live with yourself? Do you feel any sense of guilt? Are there any physical symptoms related to your work (abuse of alcohol, drug abuse, or another form of addiction)? Can you honestly tell people that you work for Apollo Group/University of Phoenix? If so, what is their response?

Do you use any of the "techniques of neutralization" other than needing a job?.................................................................................... https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Techniques_of_neutralization

I don't think most of you dipshits realize how close this place is to putting all of you dumbass defenders out on your ass.. Nobody is clamoring to get hired here, most are trying to find a way off this sinking ship. If I was hiring someone and saw UoP on their resume I'd slap them for even showing up.

Agreed, CK. Anyone in Enrollment IS complicit and deserves derision and scorn for their sleazy actions. The longer you work for this criminal enterprise, the harder it will be to find work after this dump is forcibly shuttered.

people still recruiting are there because they need a job CK. You sound like someone who was fired for not doing their job and you can't let go of your bitterness. If they hired you back you'd go in a second
