@ Anon: Beware the fallacy of false generalization. Most of the Asians I know speak English that sounds like Basic British Standard, and would rather own their own companies than kiss ass to make it to the top of the corporate ladder in a stagnant industry. Also, regarding your language skills, "Silicon Valley" should be capitalized, as should the titles of magazines. You may want to make a note of that for future insulting posts.
Indians have very little contribution. Chinese yes but not south Asians.

In the 70's there was a shortage of nurses and other medical staff. I believe large number of Indians came in 70s whose kids are now doctors.

without Chinese immigrants in the 1800s those transcontinental railroads would not be built. without the rail system America's agriculture and industrialization wouldn't advance, the infrastructure for the oil boom would not exist. which would not allow us to manufacture fast enough during the world wars. We would not have leverage to make it the superpower it is today. The US has always been a nation of immigrants
