Thread regarding Chevron Corp. layoffs

DWEP Expats

Is there any talk of sending the DWEP expats back to their home country? I am concerned as there are not very many jobs back in my home country

many expats from U.S. have to come back (must moves) and they have to make space for them. it only makes sense to transfer non-U.S. expats currently in the U.S. back to their (cheaper) home countries. That will save Chevron millions after relocation costs.

I know rotators in most of Africa and Brazil are having to return. I believe some of them were given the option to go residential though.

It's unfortunate the oil patch is going through this downturn. Many good people and hard working professionals are going to face hard times. I wish each of you the best in the future and that you come out if this better than before. Life closes doors and opens new ones for all.

@ConcernedExpat - it's hard to say, I am in a somewhat similar position. I really think they will have to make some radical moves, and I am preparing for the worse. I know this does not help, but wanted you to know that there are many of us in a similar position
