Getting rid of expats.

Latest news through the grapevine is that SJVBU is getting rid of all it's expats while it recently hired new PEs (fresh from college). ROMS expected to start in October. John Watson visited KR two weeks ago to check on the BU.

many expats from U.S. have to come back (must moves) and they have to make space for them. it only makes sense to transfer non-U.S. expats currently in the U.S. back to their (cheaper) home countries. That will save Chevron millions after relocation costs.

Hey Chairnan... just look after yourself as nobody else will. And as for all the rest of us (whites included), we'll look after ourselves... You need not bother about us, as we don't give a damn about you and others like you. Just leave this forum.

Let's be honest, folks, SJV was already on the chopping block to be sold back in the 90s, before a combination of factors barely saved their asses. Now, when it comes to cutting opex, which is what they are desperately looking to do right now, the easiest thing is to eliminate expats. The uplift is nothing, but a $10,000/month GSS and housing allowance? Well, that's something we can cut with nothing more than a plane ticket home; plus we can defer your moving expenses to next year, getting you off the books for Q4. Did you people really think that Chevron values someone from a third world country to be even close to being equal to a red-blooded American? No, our colours are about to be revealed to all. If you're any colour other than white with a red neck, you are at risk.

To 162139. That's what I told the guy, but he's a true Chevronite and didn't want to hear it. Believes company will take care of him! I let him know it generally takes about 18 months. I just said good luck.

To 161747, green card is a long process. It is not going to address the short term cost saving needs.

Absolutely no truth to these rumors. BU is strong. Expats doing just fine. You seem to be starting rumors.
