Thread regarding Whole Foods Market Inc. layoffs

F*** Off John Mackey, start at the top!!!

Our regional president Omar Gaye came from the dish pit and has proven that he belongs right back where he started. So instead of starting at the top and getting rid of or reducing the pay of some executives and coordinators they decided like any good wall street corporate whore to chop at the store level. So this means the team members at all locations are going to be working twice as hard to fill in for those lost team members because there will be know hiring moving forward. Those team members that choose to stay after this will have their pay drastically reduced and will be working fewer hours. The funny thing is the executives and coordinators are going to be the same assholes demanding perfection and wondering why things aren't getting done on top of it.Then there are the team leaders that will be under so much more pressure because now they not only have to deal with disgruntled team members they have to add the previous responsibilities from those who left without being able to hire anyone. As it stands now there is not enough in the labor budgets to get the things they want done, done.Let's not forget that they are dissolving team leader positions too.Examples are combining meat and seafood pitting the two existing team leaders against each other also combining grocery, whole body and specialty together pitting those three team leaders against one another and then combining prep foods and bakery pitting those two team leaders against each other. That's four team leader positions gone and more for the existing team leaders to take on and guess what they get for taking on an entire other team? You guessed it NOTHING.no incentive for inheriting an entire teams worth of work. That means they've taking on more team members more coordinators more responsibilities for the same wage they had before not to mention working in an environment that is bitter. So now that my passion for working for this company is gone I will be looking at my job as just a regular 9-5 and will be keeping my innovations to myself because we all know that WFM depends on it's team members to bring ideas and innovations to the table. That is over!! I advise the same to all remaining team members because obviously they don't give a shit and we've all have been being used so we can be tossed out like trash.

Only stores doing under $375k a week in the South are merging teams like this.

They haven't merged Prep Foods and Bakery here yet, as far as I know. Are you sure the whole south region is consolidating like that?

From the North Atlantic Region here and I got laid off on Friday, have till Tuesday to decide if I want to take the severance pay or find another position...dedicated myself for 5 years as a TM, then trainer, small vendor buyer and frozen buyer...now it's all up in smoke smh...he worst part is is that I had an awesome team and losing them is what upsets me the most after getting treated like dirt for Wall Street big wigs...

Do more with less never sounded so harsh. The pressure never lets up. Just keep compressing and pushing it further down. Corporate shills.

From the south here and I completely agree! My store combined bakery/prep Foods, meat/Seafood, and grocery/whole body/ specialty. For no raise in wage at all. Most people left to go to other stores. But the stores they moved to are now getting combined as well. As soon as my TL position is open to severance I'm taking the money and running.
