Thread regarding Whole Foods Market Inc. layoffs

Holiday table?

Our customers have come to expect a certain very high level of team member service. Who is going to tackle the holiday table and run their turkeys? I am (was) on the marketing team and know how hard we all worked for two months straight to perform not only our regular duties but also man this considerable and demanding seasonal operation. I can't see how this inevitable customer disappointment in waiting can possibly be good for business. Shame on you, whole foods. But somehow I am not too surprised.

Who'll be doing holiday table? Front End. One Store. One Team. Maybe a person from every team. Maybe prep foods. If Marketings contribution is who will do holiday table, that's why they're gone. Who can do it? Pretty much anyone.

Not that anyone should have been blindsided this way, that's horrible.

Ha! Anonymous 163070...I remember The former & current regional pres stood on stage and said Marketing will never have an ATL because they don't generate any sales. And the EC didn't even back us up! Huh? Good luck looking for someone to connect with the community AND the Internet AND the team members. I'd love to see the regional team out there sweating in 100 degree weather for every single 5k and festival. Yeah right!

Too much growth and too many suits trying to save their salaries by cutting the lower TMs. Maybe streamline corporate and make some cuts where it really needs to be. This should really boost morale in a company headed down the drain.

Ha! Thats gonna be intereseting to watch. Im sure the atl or tl gor each team will now have to chip in. Wonder who is gonna be placing accurate and smart orders and who will pass on any product availibility to our customers or who will keep an eye on the team to motivate if all those positions are gone! F***! Omar! Come to our store and work here!

Will love to see how they handle it without marketing. I also wonder how they're going to handle all the social media they've created for each store.

They haven't valued marketing in over 5 years. I had been told to my face in the past that marketing didn't bring in any money so our team didn't do anything and didn't deserve an ATL. Have fun during the holidays Whole Foods! You've cut your nose off to spite your face.
