I'm in the south region and even though my TL told me if I reapply i will get my job back I am going to take the severance and leave. I was on the verge of leaving two years ago and my STL told my TL that I was too valuable of an employee and we needed to work the problems out. Looks like that doesn't matter anymore. One of the TLs in my store told a friend that Whole Foods is losing a lot of motivated and smart team members they didn't expect to lose. I think they thought those of us who have been loyal and hard working would stay because we love the company. Can't they see that the smart ones can see that their loyalty and hard works means nothing now? How can I know my job won't be gone again in six months? Sucks that the taxes will be so high on my severance, but I'm getting out while I can. And I'm feeling a little glee that they did this going into holidays. honestly, my team is going to be screwed.

It's the die-hard veterans who are getting cut in my region (the South). The skilled, experienced ones who have dedicated their whole careers to Whole Foods are the ones who have been sacked and are taking the severance. Have fun during the holidays, Whole Foods.
Holiday customers will be so frustrated! Everybody is drowning! In some stores I know weeding out was probably good, but I'm sure they never expected the die hard dedicated would leave too. Shame on you WFM. You've really ruined what your heart & soul started 35 years ago.

Same!!! What a horrible time to do this. They are going to see loss in sales with loss of team members. Team members is what keeps that place running and cutosmers coming back.
