Thread regarding Halliburton Co. layoffs

I have been through it. I also know many of them DO hate their jobs at DMC because I hear it all the time.

Yes they need the job to support their families but most of them work at Hal because there is nothing else in the area any better.

Point is, if you are unhappy in what you do, change it. Don't drag everyone else down with you.

Typical "feel sorry for myself" attitude.

You can change what you don't like. Everyone that signs on with Hal should know the ups and downs of the oil industry. If you can take the good times you need to be prepared for the bad as well.

To 164137 unless you have gone through what all these people are going through then please do not vioce your opinion!!!! These men and women come to work everyday not knowing if today is the day they are going to be walked out due to lay offs. They all have families they are supporting and getting laid offed is going to create a Financial hardship for them. No one hates their jobs if you would read correctly they hate waiting for the unknown. So if you would like to do something worth while pray for all involved its this terrible time! Thank you

It's sadly apparent that many people need to be let go. I've never seen so much hatred and ignorance assembled in one place like on this website. How do people stay working at a place they seem to hate so much?

If you hate your job and your management so much why worry about being laid off. It sounds like somebody would be doing you a big favor.

What does it really matter. Why worry about something you have no control over? Put it in God's hand and forget about it! It's really that simple. When one door closes, God will open another one for you. Your thoughts govern what happens in your life. If you're thinking and dwelling on it, you are inviting it to happen.

4 weeks?

Here's the deal obviously NO ONE knows what they are talking about. Everyone just throws crap out there. The email said within 2 weeks that would be Oct. 5th.at the latest. That's a fact. So all you people just running you're mouths find something else to do! GEESH!

The email said with in two weeks we would be notified,so how could it get past October 5th. Oh wait halliburton doesn't care if they f*** with your head. They can do what they want and they will probably wait and make us all sweat it out. Every pgl and manager who hides it from us is nothing but a chicken shit. Tomorrow maybe we will know more.

They do have the number now. Houston has to ok all of them. Lay off will be October 1st.

I would hope it would be by early week after next, simply because the internal memo stated that those affected would hear from their managers within two weeks. To drag it out any longer would be extremely cruel.

I've herd Oct 5 is the deadline.

They will finish by Wednesday, so they don't have to pay benefits for October.

Well the 8th would be past the 2 weeks.
