Thread regarding Whole Foods Market Inc. layoffs

How does this affect the regional TMs...they could save a lot of money cutting some of those jobs.

I second your sentiments Saddened. It's time to move on or stick it out and be certain to take good care of one another. We all have to decide what's best in our individual circumstances. We should continue to be our best but it's never wise to trust blindly

Global and regional offices will see major layoffs and paycuts as well. If you have been around long enough you'll remember huge layoffs in 2008 that only hit the regional offices and global, this time it includes the stores for the first time. It is a time to stick together and help one another through this and not point fingers at who should and shouldn't have a job. No team member, regardless of where the work, is responsible choosing what positions are being cut. That was all decided at the very top. As stock tanks, the media attacks and sales slump restructuring seems to be the first go to for most companies. The competition in fierce now and WFM is no longer the leader. I have been with the company for 18 years and now sadly will be moving on and hope everyone lands in a better place.

I work at one of the regional offices and I am just as shocked by all of this. We received absolutely no heads up or warning this would be coming down. Most of us have been here 15+ years and started out in the stores.

There are and will be a lot of regional layoffs as well, in all regions. This is a restructuring of the way WFM does business.
