Just curious, does Hali has as many vice-presidents and directors as Baker ?
Every other person you bump into in baker offices is a VP or Director .... could not figure out whats up with that?

Baker also has way too many project managers in the Houston office. Too many team leads and managers with very few direct reports beneath them. Alot of these are people that don't know anything but have been with the company for a long time and there is nowhere else to put them. It would only make sense to consolidate most of these into fewer management positions.

Take it easy, it is 2:1 in Baker
Halliburton have a considerably flatter organization. A VP with BHI would be considered a Director with HAL, a Director with BHI is considered a Manager with HAL. With HAL being the puppet masters of the new organization I hope existing job titles are deflated accordingly.
In 2009/2010 Baker laid off a lot of management to get rid of too many layers - same what HAL announced recently. However, after the removal of several layers of management suddenly everyone announced in management position was director or VP. And within a short time there were again multiple layers of directors and VP. Some of them even with no direct reports.
Worked for Red 40 years........... Cut like a green hat with 6 others 30 year plus hands. I think Hall has a 3 .5 ratio VP to 1 field hand. Sorry .....
