Thread regarding Whole Foods Market Inc. layoffs

i understand both sides, but such a shame

its a business. team members get layed off in order to compete. But why?

Stores are opened so quickly now a days. they dont care about their current stores anymore. As long as their name keeps showing up in new places, they are on to the next one. Most money spent on these stores do nothing with the grocery department. Why not spend money on what cares, grocery prices , and the grocery team. And they number the store openings like the number is a big deal. Fix the current stores and care about them.

it was a complete shame on how they did this. Everyone was left in the dark and no one knows whats next. The bulk of the people who actually care are buyers and supervisors. So getting a recent promotion is a bad thing here. If you are part time or full time regular team member, you are safe. Makes no sense at all. Then all of this , they drop their labor to team big time. A great benefit is no longer achieved (gainsharing). So yes i am saying, the less you do , the more safe your job is. Makes no sense at all.

Coming into the busy seasons, team member morale is going to go way down. People are going to complain, but prices will be lowered? All that is geared towards the customer. But lower prices dont mean shit if there isn't anything on the shelves cuz you fired alll your buyers. Makes no sense

Restructure how you pay people. You did this huge commercial abbout our values. your money isnt going into the right place. giving away 500$ a week at every store. put that towards some ones paycheck who is the backbone of this company. Money isn't going in the right directions, and dont blame the workers about it.

So its tme to secretly get my resume going, and fly under the radar or i might be next

"Fix the current stores and care about them." SO TRUE. They open new stores and forget about them as soon as they move on to the next opening. Total bullshit. They're laying off the only people who care about that company and the work that they do. Trim all the seasonal and PT cashiers and CAs -- they don't want to be there anyway. Make the passionate core TMs you have more efficient, streamline the PROCESS, not the people. Bull. Shit.

they are also trying to convince people not to use the severance pay, they dont even want to pay that out to people.
