Thread regarding Whole Foods Market Inc. layoffs

Auto buying, auto scheduling

Auto scheduling has already started in the north east and there have been MAJOR talks about auto buying for the non perishable teams. Not to mention UES opened using kiosks to order..

You look forward to auto buying? That means buyers will be out of a job. You are looking forward to auto scheduling? That means they don't need you anymore!

And auto buying has nothing to do with real time inventory. The buying will be based on sales trends and done by a computer. Monthly inventory will still have to be done for perishable teams

they rolled out the auto schedule system in my region too..if any of y'all listened to their pained conference call in 2014 after the shitty earnings report and the stock tanked ,walter robb talked a bunch how they were gonna invest in technology to save labor and money..so now you have this workday thing, auto schedule and the auto allocation order system is next..they want to dumb down the team leader and astl positions so they can fill them with stooges from outside the company who will work for less money and be basically uncritical yes-men.team leaders who only handle write ups and basic functions who just happy not to be working for walmart or target anymore...pay attention to whom they have hired in your stores for the last few years...

Auto-buying? Our tech is two steps above floppy disks and MSDOS. It will be wonderful when it happens, and free up a lot of time for customer care, but even real time inventory is a pipe dream for now.

I look forward to my first automated schedule!

UES=upper east side. It's a location in New York City. Customers there use kiosks to order coffee, juice and odds items. I see it working well for customer service but it's going to be a pain the ass for pfds. As someone who made the schedule for pfds, it's going to be more work

My CS TL loves the auto scheduling. Schedule tells her to put x amount of TMs to open, mid, and close. Lines have gone down since this has rolled out and office time has been directed towards job dialogues and write ups. Not perfect system, but giving less savvy TLs the "fill-in-the-blank" schedule takes away a level of their incompetence.

Auto scheduling for CS teams, which only have to deal with customers, not with delivery, stocking, prep and maintenance of departments. Would be very surprised if auto-scheduling rolled out to major teams like grocery and produce
