24/7 Availability for all supervisors/ATLs, full timers, or step down. Anyone else?

Any other stores dealing with availability issues? We we're told this came down from global. Open availability for supervisors and ATLs, and pretty much open availability for full timers (with 1-2 exceptions, 1 day or night blacked off). If it can't be fulfilled, TMs would have to step down to part time and pay more for benefits.

This to me was a big sign of our dying "culture". Remember the training video where TMs played in a band together? Tough luck now, because you can't have a life outside of WFM! Hire more part timers, create a revolving wheel that forgets about those with years and years of service.

In my store, everybody above TM has to be open avaialble.

That's how it's been with my TL the three years I've been here. It was just expected that If you wanted to be full time you had to be able to work any time. Not saying it's right., just saying that it's nothing new here in PN

What about the person who is amazing in the bakery, works 4am-12pm for years, and then takes care of a sick mother during nights? Too bad? Can't work nights, then you have to be part time?

The mom who works days then picks kids up from school? Thanks for your 13 yrs, see ya!

Ridiculous. They make us request off 23 days in advance but my department always posts the weeks schedule a few days prior.

Should be that way, already done that way in many regions. If you're leadership or a buyer, you need to be available basically anytime within reason. If not, you're in the wrong position. As for FTs, anybody that's FT with weekend or 'only open' restrictions is creating an unfair environment for everyone else.
