Thread regarding Whole Foods Market Inc. layoffs

Are cashiers getting cut as well?

I have been with whole foods for 5 years now and at the moment I am a FT cashier... Probably one of the higher paid cashiers at this point. Are we safe from the cuts?

Mainly it is restructuring of specialists and the PBS. Marketing and team trainers are gone. No "regular" team members are affected (for now??).

Cashiers hours will be dropped to a minimum based on status as labor will go down. No more team trainers.

If you've been there long enough to make a decent wage, you're probably getting the axe. "Why are we paying a cashier $15 an hour when we can have someone do it for $10". This is the corporate mindset.

Some regions are eliminating all TMs who are on a final, but I haven't heard anything specific about cashiers. Just supes.

Someone has to take the money, it's the only thing that matters.
