"grocery, you have a call on line 2"- (run/panting/busy as hell) "grocery, this is blank, how can i help you?" "yes, do you sell vitamin C?" UGH.. (wrong dept.!) or, alternately, "do you sell olive oil?" JUST TRY to have the answers, for ONCE. sorry to interrupt your discussion of how hard life is yakking on the front end. frustrating! BUT we do need them and we do love them. can't deny it.

They didn't cut any front end team member at my store. And we are even trying to take ones that did get cut. Maybe your store is really small and has no sales. So you wouldn't know what hard work is either. I would love it if you lost your job, and were forced to go to the front end. You will eat your words son! But I would rather you Eat shit and live!!! I'm a Super on the front end and my kids rock it everyday!!!!! We put up with rude people including TM at times. This guy!

Front end team members ( & cashiers in general ) are treated like the garbage cans and second class citizens. Guest & team members alike dump ALL of their negativity and bullshit on cashiers and wonder why they're so "shifty". Being a cashier is emotionally, mentally, and physically taxing and is NOT for the weak. This is not me complaining because I actually enjoy working up front. I grew a thicker skin working up front which is very useful to have in the "real world" outside of Whole Foods. . So yeah, Get outta here with your ignorance and hate. Walk a mile in a cashiers shoes, you wouldn't make it 2 feet. Til you have DONE the job, speak not for you know NOTHING!!!!

Truly though, self checkout. Most front end people in my store just have shitty attitudes towards everyone. Self checkout supports many large corporations. Maybe goodbye.

Yeah, ok. When someone in another department f***s up, who do you think customers complain to? Who has to apologize for something they didn't do and take the vitriol from angry customers?

Other departments think we don't do shit because they come up front when we are slow. Customers come in waves. Sometimes there's none and sometimes you have 2 cashiers and a booth person trying to checkout 30 people who all come to the front at the same time. Not to mention phone calls coming in and other teams calling us on the walkie.

We also help a lot of customers you don't know about because we have to have a working knowledge of every department. We could just hand them off to you, but we try to help everyone.

Try asking a Meat TM a grocery question, or a Whole Body TM about beer. We handle a lot of difficult customers you never see.

Look at a conventional model f*** head. Cashiers are still there, the grocery aisles are empty. Who's job is irrelevant again?

So do you want to work a till and take all that negativity from guests all day?

Seriously, CS is the only team that the store really truly NEEDS to survive. They work so goddamn hard all day and wreck their wrists, shoulders, sanity, and backs while product teams get to stand around and shoot the shit with each other while they work. I was CS TL for years before a lateral jump to a margin team and believe me, my life and job are so much physically and emotionally easier now. I work just as hard, but I am much less broken at the end of the day. ALL RESPECT IN THE WORLD TO OUR FRONT END TEAMS - they rock.

Ha I would like to see what would happen if we all disappeared. There would be no sales because who the hell do you think rings up all your crap? You're the kind of ignorant person I hate working with.

you're an idiot... do you understand how the store works? are you going to work the register? I hope you lose your job, you're exactly the single-minded jerk who is ruining things for everyone, passing the blame for their own shortcomings.
