Neat, I don't know how you intended your comment to be read, but in it is more than a grain of truth. I spent more than 25 years there and towards the last few years I too felt as I was doing nothing. We all are expected to be self motivating and to show initiative, but even at quite high levels there is a need for collaboration, inclusion and direction.... I put the fault entirely at the feet of inexperienced management or management that really didn't care or want to get involved in the details, tragic really, how many talented people's skills wasted or at least not put to good use... Never mind, guess it'll all come out in the wash, as they say ;)
