What about buyers???
Any ASTLs?
Yes, I heard that a few TLS have lost their job around the Dallas metro due to Team mergers. A buddy of mine at the Arlington store said that the Seafood TL was let go because they combined the Meat and Seafood Team. What a shame! The guy busted his behind and people had a ton of positive feedback.
I heard about a TL getting the boot
All stores are being affected. I work at the WFM in Arlington,Tx. and so far that I know of for certain, 15 people have been given the boot. Here are the details on options:
Option #1. Leave with 8 weeks of full pay, plus a severance package (for every 2,000 service hours you will receive 2 weeks additional pay, plus you can cash out your PTO.
Option #2. Find another position in-store that needs to be filled. The options given to me were Dishwasher and GSC. If for any reason there is a pay difference, you would receive half the difference in pay for 50 weeks. After that point, you will settle for the new rate. Example: if your currently paid $20/hrs and dishwasher pays $10, your new rate will be $15 for the next 50 weeks. After that time you will have to settle for $10.
The company is lyang about there only being 1,500 job cuts. If our small store is losing at least 15 and there is over 600+ stores, that we'll over 9,000 TM'S that are being let go today. I know this because I am one of the selected TMs. It's unfortunate and I'm very disappointed on how they are handling this situation. It all boils down to California and New York stores getting caught slipping and causing a financial crisis for our company. At the end of the day, the little people get screwed, big wigs keep their money by cutting corners. Mark my words, our Guest Service will diminish due to lack of TM'S working with a shifty morale. Prices will go down alittle bit, but at what cost? Normal people don't know this, but as a company we have a Gross Margin target of atleast 42%. That means we buy a ton of items at a price and mark it up to make a 42% profit on it. Yes we over price things, but when people get trained to believe that it's ok, it goes unnoticed and apart of the norm. Thanks for reading and may God bless those who lost their jobs today. ALL 9,000 of us that THEY really won't say. 1,500 my ass.....
Lost 3 TMs at my store so far today, no buyers or higher that I know of. Other stores in the metro have confirmed losing buyers, GAs, marketing, etc.
