Thread regarding Whole Foods Market Inc. layoffs

Union crap

Please no matter what, just for the sake of the few leftover tms, dont have union organizers come in! My position is also cut snd i have to take a $2.45 paycut/hour but unions are not the answer. I worked for a company that had a union and that shit is a waste of money and time! I dont know how to change things but unions make everything more difficult. Read up on it before u sign any little cards from union-dudes just waiting to make money off of us now too! Remember, they dont just offer to help bc they care about u. Just my two cents. Good luck to all the buyers and supervisors who decide to interview for their old positions again!

I remember when we had a TL meeting and M. Earnstein tried to tell us which candidate to vote for in 08 to keep Unions out out of power. Is that even legal???

I worked for wfm for over ten years, tm to tl. The company should have organized after it bought Wild Oats. That's when the culture went out the window and team member happiness became nothing but a slogan. If you think you're still protected after they've erased and let go the best team members we have, you are delusional.

Re: WFMUnionOrganizer -

Don't listen to this guy. Whole Foods is a business. Guess who else is in business? Unions. Guess who is out of business? Dominick's. A union shop. Unions are out to make money, plain and simple. Guess where that money comes from? The workers. So you can work for a non-union store (or not) that pays well for the field or work with a union, not make any more but probably make less because you're paying dues to be 'protected'.

These leech Union people are not the answer either, avoid them like the plague. Everybody needs to be smart and do what's right for each individual person. F*** these guys right back, where it hurts the pocketbook.

Workers literally died just to get what meager protections the government supposedly offers. My brothers and sisters organized in labor unions are the most progressive organized social force in my city. Whole Foods Market management isn't on your side. We have fundamentally different interests because we're from different classes.

What do you mean by "come in"? I've worked at this company for years. Multiple regions, multiple positions. We have a right to organize in our interests.

15 years I have given these guys, ATL then TL and now supervisor. I will gladly take that severance and get the hell out of there. I don't want to be somewhere that spends millions of dollars on slogans like "value matters" or their god damn vision day then realize their ideas are straight up stupid, and that people with families have to pay the price. If I evere see you again JM I gonna put my fist through your face for all the people you just shit on.
