Don't leave until you have another job. Even if you have to step down to a tm role, use the bridge pay and then leave. You still get some of the severance. Take care of yourselves friends

I don't think the writer was trying to be arrogant. I think it's good advice. Most people don't have another job lined up ... if they did, they'd be super excited about the severance. I'm a buyer and I was planning to put in my two week notice the day they announced this. Now I get severance and 8 weeks pay and get to go straight to my new job. I'm thrilled. Most people aren't as lucky, so they should take care of themselves first. Don't let your anger have you evicted because you don't have a job lined up.
It is totally dependent upon your specific situation or not. Implying people arent smart is pretty arrogant. I feel sorry for people like you already giving up, thinking they have no where else to go.
I couldnt continue to work for a company that was so hypocritical and irresponsible.
