I'm on admin doing Green Team (porter) and I'm scared for my job. The STL told me I was going to be fine, but for some reason it's hard for me to believe. Has any porters been released from any store?

Not here. However if you stay get ready to be cross trained in every department because you don't have enough to do already. Plus customers really want the TM cleaning the toilets to handle food as well.
It depends on your store's sales volume. Each store gets to keep a number of porters based on sales volume. I'm in SW region. Some stores get 2 porters, some stores get none. I'm pretty sure all lay offs happened yesterday, unless you just didn't work yesterday and they're talking to you today instead. The "layoffs over 8 weeks" is just that TMs have been given 8 weeks notice of their layoff, not that there will be continual layoffs over 8 weeks.

Your STL lied to your face so it wouldnt spread panic.
They knew at that level many of whom were being laid off.
My stl wouldn't even so much as look at me for days leading up to this.
I do not fault you for being trusting.
But you need to wake up and shake off some of the naivety..
No one is safe. They are also looking at people on finals or have writeups too.
I was released from the quarry location my stl said the green team position was gonna be eliminated at the end of the 8 weeks
one of our porters is gone, and today is just the first rounds. our store lost 19 people first day.
No porters have been let go in my region.
