I found out I was to be laid off on the radio in the car on the way to this meeting. The PBS posted the layoff announcement on the time clock for everyone to see. None of us had been spoken with previously. None of us had performance issues, it was our positions that were being cut. If we all walk out there will be no grocery, produce or whole body buyer in the store. This is how this company does business now, yuck.

The only reason a few of my fellow tms and I found out about it is that another tm found a copy of a emall spelling this all out. Heck, even the internet knows more than we do.
same here. i hope i get laid off but if not, i'm quitting
I may be one of the ones laid off, but even if I'm not i'm quitting. this is not the company i started working for 10 years ago.
This whole thing is sad!! The team I'm in is great, a family, I'm scared for all of us...but is this the company I started with, No! Do I wanna be working for a company like this? I guess that's the question..
I wish my store at least talked about it. They just tried to quietly lay people off with no word of warning and no acknowledgement. By the end of the day rumors are flying and people are saying that if anyone is heard "gossiping or spreading low morale" is getting instantly fired.
I'm not even at risk of losing my job but watching my friends and fellow TMs leave is making me reconsider my employment here.
