I don't think the original poster was spreading rumors - they just forgot question marks.
Look, there are a lot of people that have been affected by these layoffs. I understand all the anger and if it was me I would be upset also. I was really worried when I heard all our stores had emergency meetings scheduled for Monday morning in my area. However, getting on here and throwing out rumors is not helping anything. Let's focus on helping our displaced friends find a spot if they want one, or support them in anyway if they decide to leave.
It doesn't matter to me. I'll never shop there again.
They will probably change it to a .5% discount and talk how grateful you should be.
I've been wondering about that too. I do the majority of my shopping at WF but as of yesterday I'll only shop there if I'm in dire straights for lunch. (Assuming I keep my job for much longer.) I buy lots of high end products, amounting to $500 or more a month easy. I will now be focusing on farmer's markets, Central Market, Fresh Market, Sprouts, and other specialty grocers. Why should I feed any more money into this awful company?
Really, show me the proof?
