Thread regarding Whole Foods Market Inc. layoffs

I'm still deciding what I'm going to do. But let's be real here: no one knows wtf is going to happen.

The only people who know what's going to happen after the holidays, whether or not there'll be more layoffs, etc, is Global. Regional learns as they tell STLs, STLs learn as they tell TLs, and then the rumour boat sails everywhere and everyone's unhappy. Make the right decision for you. I'm applying for a whole bunch of other jobs right now, but I know I need to pay rent, so yes, I will be joining the "only buyer" Hunger Games in my department. sigh

Just do what you've gotta.

I'm willing to do what it takes to pay my rent in the now, but that does not mean I'm cowering in the shadows. I know my worth and I know my talent, and all of my vendors (who have offered to reach out for me as well) know it too. I've only been there for two years, so the severance is not the bubble that it is for you. My leadership wants me to be the one that stays, they've already told me that and have been begging me not to bail, but I and I alone am the one deciding that it's time to go and look for other jobs. But that doesn't mean that I'm going to just shut a door behind me because, surprise surprise, a corporation made a shitty business decision that screws workers on the ground level. I know my worth, but I also know better than to look at a legitimate continuation of my comfortable income as "cowering in the shadows," you condescending prick. I'm doing what's right for me.

It was in my best interest to take the severence. Had i not been there fulltime for 6 years or make what i did, it have been a harder decision.

This was a no-brainer.

I have student loans, rent, bills, debt..

And i make it work every paycheck i received. And have already planned for months how to manage the money I will get. Even for unexpected emergencies.

Try looking harder instead of giving in.

You just seem like your willing to cower in the shadows of another because its wahwah too f***ing hard to start over. Or maybe you arent as good as you thought and you know no one will hire you when your only skill is purchasing product for a very specific locations needs and filling holes on a shelf.

Well guess what, thats the reality of it.

Im tired of the woe is me bs.

Stop complaining and do something.

Because if you arent willing to even try, you will be even more miserable when you realize you gave up an opportunity to better yourself.
