When I was laid off they tried to deny me the 8 weeks pay, stating that I "was not a team member" however I had just been voted on (Ive only been there for 4 months.) however I had been voted on a few weeks prior at a team meeting, I spoke with several team members that remember voting for me, but because of my TL's lack of urgency to file it into the system, they thought they were going to lay off someone they didn't have to pay, because in the system I wasn't a 'Team Member'. I realize that they do not have to PAY ANYONE this 8 weeks, but that does not negate the fact that I just lost a job I was paying bills with.

No, legally they have to give 60 notice for lay offs. That is where this 8 weeks pay comes from
What a poor response, 4 months or not, a team member is a team member.
