Thread regarding Chesapeake Energy Corp. layoffs

One day left in the month, yes, absolutely this was planned.

I am currently in litigation against Chesapeake, as somehow in 2004 our working interests got reduced by so called "new title opinions" well I run HBP and ran it all out myself. I am looking at 4.3 million in retribution and I am a little guy compared to the others. I'm sorry for those that are let go today or this year as rumored another 700 in December but your leaders did this all, and payback is a B-iotch. Go see Aubrey in Nichols Hills, his AEP IS the number one reason you just got canned. Town Hall meeting in NH??

The right to a "speedy trial" only applies in the criminal context.

Civil litigation often drags on for many years in some cases.

Not an attorney, simply an HBP landman. The Chesapeake attourney group kept this from being filed by countless motions in Oklahoma county until late 2013, as i could not affford their endless legal eagles and have to work to keep my own job... Yes almost 3 years in and they are still burying us in paperwork, but I am only adding up the fee's as the title opinions by third parties are in black and white. When you go against something as powerful in the state as a Chesapeake, you have to wait for the judicial system to slooooowly work.

Wait you've had a lawsuit for 11 years now? Why hasn't this been resolved yet? Are you a horrible attorney or what? What ever happened to the "right to a speedy trial" and all that stuff?
