Thread regarding Whole Foods Market Inc. layoffs

Really hope I get laid off.

I'm a front end supervisor and would welcome the layoff at this point. I am tired off the shrinking labor % and the stress of the extra workload that comes with it. We are already understaffed and can only open half the check stands can't wait to see what the even lower % does. I've looking for a new job for the past few months getting the severnce pay would be awesome.

A few positions were combined. That doesn't stop anyone from moving up.

Move up how? The steps to get to higher positions have been made steeper without specialist positions available.

My stl and astl are at the store at least 55 hours a week each. I know when you break it down by the hour a lot of tl do better than astl. I like to to work 40 and have a life. I would never move up.

I guess WFM is officially the new hippy Walmart... All the yuppies will have to bag their own goods as they all ready do at our store. We're so short staffed in every department! Not very many good comments from guests lately either, but how can we keep our quality and good guest service with no one to provide it???? I swear they want us to work off the clock and breaks! What is a break!!!!. I've had a bad feeling as to WFM direction and I know I'm not alone. They've been doing this for a year, yesterday was just their way of going public. What sucks is all the faith WFM employees had put in the company, many like me hoped this corporation was ethical, that it was different and would be part of the change this world so desperately needs. I guess all those hippies turned into yuppies and turned to the power of the almighty dollar. Yesterday was truly a sad day.

-anonymous 166737 that depends if you stl is keeping that busy or watching the team members from the office on the cameras and unavailable for all that customer or team member interaction and "leadership"..and isnt gainsharing supposed to reward us for harder work?? havent seen that in a long time..and did you ever wonder why your STL got a new mustang or corvette every year with their bonus while we toil, short staffed and no gainsharing.????

Yes ask your STL about bonuses. Wait hang on, he is with another TM, then a customer, then a meeting, then another TM, then he has to go back to the store at midnight for an alarm, then...

What part of "more responsibility gets more pay"" don't you understand?

You took a job that is 40 hours with less responsibility. If you want the bonuses, move up. It's open to everyone.

How is offering worse customer service good for business? Fewer open check stands, no baggers. Walmart level service at a premium price.

ask your tl who got to reap the extra off the top cut on those labor budgets...and ask your stl or astl what their EVA bonus is annually.

It's business, nothing personal. Best of luck and thank you for your service.
