Thread regarding Whole Foods Market Inc. layoffs

Applying for my job that I was just fired from, while clocked in DOING the job i'm applying for but also fired from. Makes sense.

I just felt this was ironic. Today I re-applied for my Supervisor position that I was just laid off from, DURING my shift. Only at Whole Foods can you get fired, then still have to come to work the next day for your scheduled shift, and while there, be given a sheet to re-apply for the job you were just fired from, while on the clock DOING the job you're applying for but also fired from. Makes sense. I love explaining this to people.

PNbuyer, if the job went away, why are they still required to fulfill the responsibilities of the job?

Don't apply. I'll take that job.

You're not fired. Your job went away, (or is going away). You are applying for the job that is taking your job's place. Similar job, different job description, and, most likely, less of them available.
