I see a lot of people bashing wfm on here and I understand that people are frustrated or even shocked. I guess my question for everyone is this: what's the end game? What are you wanting to happen from here? My job was spared and, while i understand the anger of those who were fired, I need this job to feed my kids. It seems like the few who were let go are trying to publicize it in hopes of destroying the whole company. Would that make you feel better if the other 80k team members didn't have jobs either? Would you sleep better if the friends you claim to care so much about got fired six months from now? I just want to understand. I sympathize and was hurt to see people walk away today, but I hope the company recovers soon because full time jobs are hard to find and Walmart only pays $9 an hour.

What about the people who lost their jobs who depended on it to feed their kids? If you are depending on whole foods to feed your children, then recognize your potential and get out now before you are competing with all your current fellow team members for whatever jobs are left at the competition.
According to the WFM Careers website, there are no longer 80k TM, but more like 50K.
18 years......you can be termanated. The problem is that every region works differently. Thats a fact. the message is not consistant. Information is shared prematurely . Leadership doesnt share information with team members from their own region, till it comes down from another region or talked about on a site like this. I think no one wished any one bad vidbes, but if you think WF has your back, think again. The culture has changed. The leadership has been water down. our systems that are in place are a joke and are not up to date like other markets. I love the tms who I worked with, the company , but the store I was at is a joke. No sense of ideas to create sales, how to increase moral and be competitive. tm are now looked with less value and easily replaced. Everyone is getting written up or fired. No mentoring, follow thru and support. If people quit or get fired, then your stuck doing the work load of two and still not being to work no more than 37 hours or less because your not making labor(based on projections from your STL which is another joke) The good thing is that what I have learned I can apply to another position with another employer.
WORDS OF WISDOM: IF YOU HAVE EMAILS THAT CAN SAVE YOUR BUTT WHEN YOU LEAST THINK YOULL NEED IT, FORWARD IT TO YOUR PERSONAL EMAIL. FORWARD ALL. IM GLAD I DID . OH YEAH LAWYER UP TOO. WELL WORTH IT!
You're scared too ... that's why you're on here trying to find people to be angry with you. You hope that you'll make a big enough stink to get your job back. If you had other options you'd be happy to take the severance. So don't tell those of us who still have our jobs to not be scared. And don't try to bring us down with you. Either fight for a job or shut the hell up
Regional folks in my region got laid off too. Not sure about all of them. And my region told us all about the layoffs on Friday before the news articles came out. I understand being pissed off if you heard it just this week.
I'm sick of these people scared of losing their jobs. Find a new job, you're too good for this damn company anyways. Don't ask people who lost their jobs to watch what they're saying. If you're afraid of losing your job because they spoke up, you work at a shitty place. You have no backbone or ethics or brain if you think your job is safe.
I think the anger comes from people not being told what's going on from the company leaders. As others have mentioned, there was the $$$ produced video about how values matter and everyone had to b scheduled for that, but all that's been received is a vaguely worded email from JM and WR. In times like these, caring for TMs is of utmost importance, yet we're left to figure out what's going on from store leaders, conference calls, and this website. Some regions were hit harder than others and some positions that still exist were eliminated in some regions, not all, so now people in these positions have added stress of not knowing how much longer their jobs are safe. Some teams were combined in some regions, others weren't. How many regional folks took a pay freeze or deduction to show their teams that this is effecting them also? Goodbye $13 buyer, hello year end bonus. How much ineffective leadership has gone on to get to this point? Obviously a lot, yet the people signing off on said bad decisions aren't in immediate danger of losing their jobs.
I agree with whoever posted this ... I understand that people are angry and I sympathize but don't try to bring the rest of us down with you. Take the money and run or stay and fight for a job. But don't takes r money and try to trash the company so that I don't have a job in six months.
First of all, the rest of WFM TMs aren't going to lose their jobs, especially not because of anything posted on this message board. Worst case scenario (becoming more real every day) would be a buy out, not the whole shebang shutting down. To the one who commented: "So if you think you can find a better job, look around" - well that ain't worth much if that "better job" from WFM isn't available any more. Or it's now only PT, and/or lower wage scale. Yeah it was nice, and once upon a time it might have made sense to circle round the wagons but GET REAL PEOPLE: WFM is a public corporation and has gotten too large to be the sort of place where you have any real empowerment; where you can make a difference, where you can feel a "part of it" and somewhat safe. Nope, this is no longer our fun family, this is an adversary that we have to hold to higher standards. We're going to need to work together somehow to protect each other. Unless of course you are a big koolaid fan.
Love to see WF fully investigated by the justice department. I've seen too much unethical behavior over the years for some laws not to have been broken
I still have my job, but how do you not understand the anger that these people are feeling? The trust has been broken! We all thought at one time we were working for a company that cared so much about their team members. They didn't handle anything the correct way. They made a poor choice by not lowering the prices along time ago. We didn't have to get ride of team members we needed to get rid of $500 gift certificates and 2 pumpkins for $13. Outrageous. Be more understanding and selfless. Our wfm family is seperated.
All I know is that my friends work for aldi and Kroger and have been there for years and just started making what I made when I started at wfm. So if you think you can find a better job, look around. I looked last month because my store is far away from my house and atlanta traffic sucks. No one will offer full time or pay more than $9.50 an hour
I didn't lose my job, but I'm still mad. What if you do lose your job after the holidays? I don't doubt there are more cuts to come. I bet you'll change your tune. I'm looking at the whole picture here: lots of knew people with very little knowledge of product, everyone that was left to pick up the slack, poor morale ;( ,dwindling benefits of all sorts...ect you get the picture. I am a 10 yr employee....I used to be so proud to say I worked for WFM ;( it's been dwindling little by little. I almost wish I would get cut.....get me a reason to get on with it!!!
Raising hell won't get your jobs back. It will cost the rest of us ours. Do you think that trashing the company and asking customers to stop coming will make them ADD jobs? If so your a dumbass. My advice is to fight for a job if your region gives you that chance. And please don't cost me mine. If you care more about yourself than everyone else how are you better than wfm?
Silence is complicity
What? You want us to be quiet so you can keep your job? We want you to raise hell so we so we can get ours back. WFM is a debt free company. Those new stores are built with cash. This is about corporate greed
My job was also spared for the moment but I feel extremely uneasy with the situation still.Who knows how much time anyone has left in there job. They claim the cuts are being made to lower prices and purchase technology upgrades, we can't even get the tech we have now to work correctly. Whole foods has always beat team member happiness into our heads how does screwing hundreds employees do that? People who deserve the money they are making are being cut so the company can bring in part time help for less money to do the work of the people that have been cut.Meanwhile they are dumping more work on the people that where kept and those people are not being compensated for the extra work.
have you read the rest of this site ? there are lots of companies on here, and in the end , it means nothing
Aldi isn't going to hire 80k team members who lose their jobs if wfm goes out of business. You're mad that the company doesn't care about team members but you don't care either. You'd rather have everyone lose a job instead of just 5% because you're one of the 5%. Sounds like you don't care about tm happiness either

God.. Can't you just let people be mad... If you got to keep your job I am glad ...but if you didn't get to you get to say whatever the f$ck you want. So to all of you without a place to wear your whole foods aprons ... Bash on!!!!
Run Whole Foods into the ground. I'm always talking shit to customers and friends. Then work at Aldi
You shoukd be scared, bro. Don't be all confident that YOU won't be let go after the holidays. You were lucky this time.
