Anonymous170304, the subject concerning the slowness of our MCPs was allowed to skate at the 2Q earnings call, but will hit a raw nerve at the forthcoming earnings call. Not only will our quarterly net income be dismal (probable worse than estimated), but the questions about Gorgon, Wheatstone, Angola and Bigfoot will be more rhetorical than inquisitive. CVX will tank badly that day. Beware.

Investors have been telling Chevron what they think for over one year now. The stock price has dropped from $135 to $75, losing billions in market capitalization. The slow progress of Wheatstone, Gorgon and the Angola travesty must be reported to stockholders and the SEC.

Did everyone notice the CVX stock bounce on Sep 30? A good part of that upward tick was done by Chevron itself to end the quarter on the best note possible. Still not good enough to impress or start a rally. We started like gangbusters this morning, Oct 1, but look at the stock price at 11:15 am... down $0.90. This is it people, we are heading into October and the stock will be tanking from here until the earnings call.

The month of October (when averaged over the past 30 years) show the worst results for the DOW and S&P 500. The figures the OP presented are factual and show the downward trend of Chevron. This October, CVX will be posting it's worst quarterly earnings report in 13 years, even worse than last quarter. Our stock will take a huge hit, one that will surpass the last one we had in the 2Q.
