Thread regarding Whole Foods Market Inc. layoffs

We were also "customers"

What's funny to me is that guests LOVED me. They waited for my availability even if it meant letting other guest go ahead, asked which days I was off to ensue that I would be the one to help them. Some would only allow me to help them. I would spend aprox. $10+ daily and more on weekends for my groceries. Guess who's not spending another dime?

My money won't go to WFM.I no longer shop there and I do not miss shopping there. I just do not get attached to a company...I really could not work in such a stressful environment....

I didn't manage. I went from 40k a year prior to WF to $11/hr at Whole Foods Cherry Creek working 10pm-6:30am over-night shifts with no benefits because they said if I wanted to work there I had to start at the bottom and learn the culture. I did learn the culture and I learned to fear it. I believed that if I worked hard enough I could make an impact and build a career. Unfortunately I was wrong but I have come out much stronger.

Good luck everyone!!

Dude, on 14/hr - I do not know how you managed it. The overall comp is a joke, the only way to make a subsistence wage is to move into management. Try putting a kid or two through school on 14/hr, or 24/hr, even if two spouse work, it's almost impossible

We lived and breathed Whole Foods. We DID is the key word. Most of my secret shops were 100% and I received compliments every day. I truley value the customer and I enjoyed instilling that same passion in them in that I have for quality products. It is a very rare occurance that a customer would leave our store unhappy. 6.5 years of great service with not one write-up yeilded me a whopping $14hr. Where are all these 'over-paid' employees that I hear everyone talking about?

Good luck on your future endeavors!!
