Thread regarding Whole Foods Market Inc. layoffs

I have been a customer since 1998 or so (at Bread & Circus in Cambridge, MA)...

Hi

I have watched the whole expansion happen. Living with a digestive disease (likely due to pesticides GMOs, and other environmental factors), WF has been my go-to for clean, organic foods for my extensive home-cooking. I have watched MANY 'specialty' allergy-friendly products come and go, and I have also watched the quality and cleanliness of the prepared foods nosedive over time. I can hardly be confident that anything in the hot foods will be safe to eat any longer due to mysterious ingredients and cross-contamination. The prices are just too high. We now know that WF has been ripping customers off on the 'tare' errors for years. The company seems to be run by a literal clown. I'm sorry for your dilemmas, but this company has been shitting the bed for ages now. It's just a slow decline, so it's not as visible if you lack the long-term xp. Good luck, I suspect things are going to get much worse. As an example, there are now something like ten natural foods stores in my town, and one of them is nearly ALL organic with amazing local produce, dairy, and meats. The days of co-ops are coming back with a vengeance as more people become weary of shady business practices and their declining personal health.

As a Team Memebr I appreciate your response. The haphazard and impulsive actions of Whole Foods Market's ELEVEN presidents; as well as two Executive VPs of Operations, David Lannon and Ken Meyer, have created this debacle. It is now the Team Members paying the price. I fully support your choice to shop at other natural foods stores and co-ops. My husband and I are now both out of a job, which we both believed to be more than a career. We believed we were intrinsically part of a greater good. Your view provides some relief. Take a moment to peruse the now expendable Core Value "we support team member happiness and excellence" and our shared fate philosophy. http://wholefoods market.com/mission-values/core-values. Feels like Whole Frauds Market to me.
