Thread regarding Whole Foods Market Inc. layoffs

Whole Foods going down the shitter for years.

They have been moving labor around for the last 2 yrs. struggling to maintain profit. I asked then if they were selling company.

They should...I know sw region is ran by 2 morons...Flash, Mark Dixon and Nona Greisman.

Nona only puts ass kissers in key positions...you can't run a company full of ass kissers cause no one will step up and tell you the truth and this Flash idiot likes you if you go camping with him at his beacon call.

The neediest STLs I've ever met. Stroke my ego...they are all pussys.

As Roy robbed the company Mackey sat with his dick in his hand wondering who can I stick it in!

I started there 13 yrs ago and watched this place go to shit while corporate went to retreat after retreat!

April.... Is that you? It's stinky "J". Remember me? If this is my April, just so you know I took the $$ and ran. I've never felt so free in my life!!! Only 1 lay off in my store. And I was the lucky one.

Many mistakes made for sure over the last few years.Investments in programs like the Conscious Leadership Academy, the Values Matter commercial, stores just a little too big for the communities they were built in have not been wise or value added.Allowing underperforming team members to continue to earn paychecks was unwise too. Each store has these folks within.Regional level too with coordinators or A/C's who are not held accountable - poor regional buying that is then pushed down to store level and then making the store accountable for poor margin and sales performance.WFM became cocky at every level and now we pay for it.We all saw it coming, especially regionally-but continued blindly.

Personal attacks, threatening strikes and unionizing(do your homework on unions if you are into corruption)do not help those who still are with the company. The severance is way better than any retail package offered in recent years for a company so large.I do understand the anger and outrage-but it does not pay the bills.

Sad and difficult times indeed.Hoping everyone involved is able to land well and find peace, happiness and a viable means of support.

San Antonio lost many great, longterm fulltime dedicated hard workers. 19 on the first day I believe at 1 store. Honestly a few let go were probably a long time coming (meaning give it a few weeks and theyd be gone because of other reasons anyway), but take a look around both stores and start asking about the people you dont see anymore. Cashiers, buyers/specialists, marketing, regular tms. It was devastating and it still is. Theyre playing nice to try to retain key people who they know the business stops without them. Given the options some could have applied for other jobs but the heavy reality set in- what if this continues into january and another round occurs and they have then reapply for the "new" position all over again? For many, taking severence and leaving immediately was the best options. Every face that disappeared, my heart burned and tightened. I knew them well and I knew what we lost without them. They never should have opened a second store in San Antonio. As the 7th largest, but one of the poorest, cities in san antonio, it was unsustainable. The floods we had destroyed us. And the higher ups said it wasnt an excuse for not comping. Wth?

San Antonio has a lot of problems, it is a microcosm of a greater evil pervasive throughout the company. The failures we experienced werent just from high prices, it was because people hired yes men friends instead of those who would do the job right. Cronism at its finest.

what are they doing in San Antonio? taking out some of the most loyal, dependable TM's and letting the flunkies deal with customers. our motto was "Good Luck" to Whole Foods for the past several months. Many were laid off right before the job dialogs were to take place. I will not miss the holiday season and having to do the work of 2-3-4 people. There are a lot of stressed out current TM's because everyone knows the STL's and ATL's cannot be trusted. They are as phony as a $3 bill. There should be a big bottle of XANAX at the time clock for TM's. Congratulations, Whole Foods, you have successfully messed with our Livelihoods!

I remember overhearing my STL tell her ASTL that "Everything Nona touches, turns to shit". That was 8 yrs ago. Nona and Flash are unethical and unfit to hold their positions, besides being incompetent

Those responsible need to be called out now more than ever. Get them OUT before it's to late. the OP has it just right.

calling out people makes you no better than the ones doing the layoffs. You should be the one being laid off. If you don't like it, leave. Simple as that.
