Our hands you would believe it. Theses decisions weren't made by regional they were made by global and handed down. Rather you believe it or not is up to you. You guys are hurt because you los t your job, understandable. But as a team leader who had to fire a team member who they hired 6 years ago with no notice is hurtful as well. Not only the unemployed were affected. Still being there is heart breaking as well.

Hitlers Germany DOESN'T HAPPEN unless there are people who don't care about RIGHT from WRONG. and think that because some "higher" up gives them an order that they have to obey that that somehow absolves you from culpability . You took the action, you were the executioner. remember that . you are the one that got your hands dirty not your masters.

TL 's where do I even start. I have seen my share of outstanding and terrifying ones. As a long term TM there was a reason I did not pursue leadership. I wanted to sleep at night and be free of my phone. I have a life. One of the many reasons we are in this predicament. It became so unattractive to be a TL because of the culture of fear, do or die targets and complacency that the candidate pool shrunk. Now the ones left, mopping up the blood finally get it. Their jobs are next.
Staying in the Team Leaders good side won't help you. They aren't sure about the role that they are in.

Nobody knows who to trust anymore, fake smiles & backstabbing just to keep your job....everybody pointing fingers at the weakest link on the team, kissing ass just to stay on your TL's good side that really doesn't give a damn about you anyway !
You certainly do not have to have an education to work at Whole Foods.

I agree. I'm a TMSL and the backlash from it all is unbelieveable and very disheartening. I don't believe that anyone wanted this to happen and it makes me look at things differently. This is one of the hardest things I had to do since I have been employed withe company. Anyone losing their job is sad but this was beyond sad. I understand everyone's frustration, broken heart, and the fact that their upset. Our jobs as TMSL's aren't safe. Across the company each region is doing something different, some have been removed, some are going metro and some are still in the stores, but it is only a matter of time before my position is eliminated. Laying off a large number of TM's was hard for me. The past three days have been gut wrenching. I have cried because of this. TM's hearts broken, in disbelief... It was a sad day and til this day I still feel sad while I get some of the backlash!
A company that has preached empowerment has left team members feeling powerless. Friends are firing friends, family is competing against family. It is what it is. Welcome to Walmart.
Stop blaming TMSL's. They are helpless in this matter. If Stl couldn't control it how could they?!
