Thread regarding Qualcomm Inc. layoffs

Man, there are a lot of unhappy people lurking here.

There are the disgruntled Q people. And there are the non-Q people that seem just as miserable. Are things really that bad out there for people?

172152 I get your post. I have read over the filings and get pissed every time I read how much money Q has and the pitiful amount of expenses they want to save. Several people have posted about a possible lawsuit but who has the money to do this against a company as rich as Q? Don't forget Q's 2nd in command is a lawyer and he has it all figured out. Plus complaining on layoff.com is like blowing hot air. If enough people are serious to make this known or voice opinions at a real site, then post it and I will sign up. Continuing to post on this site which is anonymous means jack shit.

172130: Layoffs happen. But there's a big difference between being laid off by a start-up that ran out of venture capital funding, having a major corporation lay you off with $30 billion in excess profits banked overseas, so that the people at the top can negotiate bigger and better retention bonuses, or "golden parachutes," and purchase a few new executive "toys" like Gulfstreams.

"charlatan and carnival barker" is the very definition of a politician.

Not only unhappy but a bunch good for nothing losers that convey ill will for something that is normal in this business. Layoffs happen. It's never good but all companies do it for whatever reason. This forum is a good place to vent and let off stress. I just wish there is a way to ban the MFs that love to f..k with people during these ban times.

Went for a (non Q sponsored) flu shot today and the nurse was chatting about the local rumors of Q working culture and the recent layoff. Now I believe that it's impossible for Q to find qualified engineers from SD and must import them from elsewhere. Listening to the nurse, I realized that the perception of Q working environment in the community is so bad that no one in their right mind would ever want to work there. And the young ones from local universities grow up with this perception in mind. Whoa!

Trump is a charlatan and carnival barker. Where are the specifics in his platform? Mexico is going to pay to build a wall on their border? Laughable!

I drank so much @freesoda when i worked at q I wound up in the UCSD hospital. I hope the jacobs family pays to replace the water in the large Balboa park fountain with free soda, a philanthropy gift for all San Diego residents. I vote for mountain dew

Most people that post here are prob not even QCOM employees anymore. It's people who left before the layoff, maybe way before, who still hold this hatred for the company. A lot of people in this field have huge egos and think they were slighted if they were passed up for promo or whatever. Don't get me wrong, that happens to me too, but I realize no company is perfect and no company has the employees interests first in mind.

There's a reason why the building WT balconies are closed "for maintenance." I wouldn't be surprised if the "maintenance" work continues through the end of 2016. For those of you who are depressed, remember, Don't jump, vote for Trump! He's going to make America and QCOM great again. Charlie Sheen for VP! Winning...
