If laid off (EOI) in the US, are unused vacation days paid in addition to the severance?

I was paid for unused vacation. I thought the out process was well managed. Certainly cold and degrading, but the HR rep did go over the material in detail and was ready to answer any questions. Just take a deep breath, focus on the material and ask questions. Resist the temptation to rush through it.
For those laid off in April unused vacation was paid in separate check
The expression of interest was just checking a box - with multiple links to severance plans, enhanced severance example sign-off, etc. However, after reading through it I wasn't clear on the unused vacation.
Think I found the answer in an August 19th post:https://www.thelayoff.com/conocophillips/post/5558439554056192 - looks like any unused vacation would be paid out.
"Based on the process earlier this year, there is not a check handed to you at notification. You continue on the payroll for 3 weeks after and are paid via the normal process. After your last paycheck, any remaining vacation is paid out. You'll then receive a severance package packet in the mail with the information regarding your pay and a form for you to sign and return in order to receive your severance pay. All of the calculations will be detailed so you can see how the total amount is derived. You have 60 days to return the signed form in order to receive the severance pay. Any arrangements around 401K or cash balance are handled via Vanguard or Your Benefits Resources.

Let's just say yes. I was laid off a few months ago and have no knowledge of the EOI process. Curious if the process was nothing more than a box to check yes or are the details spelled out? Not a well managed process if employees are asking questions on a 3rd party site.
