Guess my number was up. I was half expecting it but it still hurts regardless. I was disappointed that severance is based on complete years of service, does not round up as I was expecting/hoping. At least they let me go without being escorted and the humiliation that goes with that. I was given a few minutes to grab what I needed, send a quick text before heading out the door. Guess it's time for a new chapter in my career. Good luck to everyone else out there.

One think you should all know... HR main function is to screw you...
Sorry and good luck!!! Like they say, your (and my) new job is to find a new job, so treat the search itself like a full-time job and all will work out!
Know the feeling, I was the same today. I volunteered so I fully expected it. It was still weird when it happened. Onwards and upwards is all I told myself the whole time.
Really sorry. You sound like a great employee. Best of luck to you
What a great attitude and gracious heart. Best of luck in your new endeavor. Your positive attitude would be someone many wish could be kept.
Rounded down eh? That sucks, I'm 2 weeks away from my original hire date.
Anyways sorry to hear the news, better days ahead.
Was in the global wells group. For 1.5 years, you will only be counted as a year. I obviously was hoping for round up. Also learned a lesson that I should have negotiated severance to be based on my years experience (like my vacation time) when I signed on with the company.

If you read his email through, he said they paid severance based on complete years of service so they are rounding down
Are they paying out the remainder of October as your ordinary salary, with severance beginning on November 1?
Sorry to hear about your layoff.... life is about experiencing different things..i am sure this layoff is mend to bring something better in your life... i had one question: what would be the severance for 1.5 years experience? as you have just received the package so i guess you would know...
Sorry
