Shp including brittmore in one day 90 people that was on the 5th more to come in jan..
FM529 mentioned that NOV may be "bought out by one of the big boys", hence my response. Hope no one read it in an angry tone.

To 172924: you are right. All the trimming needs to be done at Corporate. To many people here with no work to do. They keep us employed by fudging with the numbers & lots of lying to show they need to keep us employed. My manager is damn good at deceptiveness. Never known anyone who is so good at con artistry. Heck, I've learned a lot from her!
Nope. NOV won't be bought over. It may try to consolidate its numerous locations, layoffs and cut expenses to save costs.
Most definitely shut down!
All I have to say is , that it looks like unless business picks up in a hurry, this business will be closed , or brought out by one of the big boys, my plant was about 500to 550 strong with employees now down to about maybe 250 and they gotta another cut coming in the next 2 months. 800,00 ft of space and after those next cuts , maybe 125 employees don't add up! Ijs

I don't know if it was 180 but at least 150 for sure. It's a mess. A lot of people with 5+ years were let go. Usually friends of managers/supervisors stay not the people who really count. If you're lazy at your cubicle for the most part you're still there ,reading this with a Grimm on your face while hard working people that actually care about their work ethic and family are gone. Sad but true, the way this location works. You can be late all you want and find all kinds of excuses as long as you know how to work the system you will be fine.
Sad to see many friends go, friends who really care about a company that seemed not to care about them. It's life I suppose. Parking lot empty with morale through the ground. A very bad way to start the month and the week.

Many friends got let go day shift people that worked there for years I wonder what went to account for them to get let go and I heard from a friend they might be having more in December or early January what will happen to night shift?

Are you saying 180 people at ONE location lost their jobs? Used to be this stuff was newsworthy. Chronicle, 2, 11, and 13 silent.

Who would think NOV would let go of that much people. Thing is, it is "assumed" that folks in corporate are less busy compared to those on shop floors.
