Thread regarding Whole Foods Market Inc. layoffs

WFM sucks

WFM has been ripping off their guest for years. Just in the Whole Body Dept...their mark ups no less then 60%! One vitamin company was terminated by WFM for charging them more for product cause the resell was so outrageous ...so the small vitamin company was shut out by WFM for making more $ off of them.

The beginning of the end was when they let go of all the accountants in store. Then cutting of hours weekly of all TMs.

They have been sucking hard the last several years...due to all other grocery stores selling organics...they could have saved themselves but they have morons in key positions....Flash, Mark Dixon...a slow moving egotistical man who himself can't believe he is where he's at! Just cause you were there at the beginning of WFM doesn't mean you need to run the SW region! and as for as Nona Griesman...can you say "fed her way to the top"...Mackey loves the f around people...shit on your family and you will go far...for if you'll shit on them you will do whatever I ask! And she has shit on everything she touches...for she is SHIT herself.

I worked for them 12 years and was terminated for BS cause they did not like my mouth...the truth hurts...starting asking 3 yrs ago if they were selling company..cause the dumb shit they were doing suggested that! Moving labor around every week, cutting jobs for no reason...etc.

Why do people keep shopping there when they are not the company they pretend to be?

8 weeks notice is the law regarding layoffs in CA. They'd either have to pay you for those 8 weeks and let you go, or let you work them (to my understanding) .

Exactly! Just because someone was a junior under-assistant accounting clerk with Harry's Farmers Market or helped do the ordering at Fresh Fields in 1989 doesn't make them qualified to run an entire region of a major retailer! When will THESE grandiose jerks be forced to resign and then have to compete against others for THEIR jobs? The entire regional structure is a mess. I've seen high school bake sales with more advanced ordering and inventory technology. I refuse to call them "leaders" anymore. I hope that potential buyers are reading this and now understand that behind the facade is a big, stinky HOT MESS. I hope the shares drop like a stone and they are forced to beg for a buyout. I would love to see these overpaid jerks have to apply to stock the shelves at Sav-a-Lot. Bwaaaahahahaha

WFM claim that they let jobs go in order to lower prices and advance in technology but to tell you the truth they cut jobs in order to cut healthcare cost. How is it that all positions were FT positions and once they cut the positions they dropped labor which only created positions for people who were willing to lose their FT postion and go PT. Screw you WFM. I understand that every company has to make tough decisions but the way they handled it was just sad. They allowed people to accept positions they knew were going to be terminated within days and weeks of their announcement. Smh

Whole foods Market has lost its integrity a long time ago. Lets just say that the "good organics" statements is a bunch of bull. Their core values is a bunch of bull and there commitment to lowering prices is definitely a bunch of bull. I have personally seen prices rise over the months and all i could do was shake my head. They claim in the media that they gave employees 8 weeks to decide if they wanted to leave the company when truth be told they terminated everyone's position immediately and said you have a week to let us know if you're staying or going. If you do stay you may be dropped to PT and if you get a FT position you will be dropped from your current pay to 13hr. So you mean to tell me if I've been with the company 15yrs and have invested blood, sweat, and tears in to a company that is not even mine to earn my pay, in order to keep my job and health benefits i have to lose money. They disgust me and i hope they are forced to close their doors soon. They are not the company they use to be. Sad but true.
