Thread regarding ConocoPhillips layoffs

I am curious ... Please Tell Me Why ... No layoffs in AUSTRALIA while we are sacrificed here?

Hey Cost Team, as your local troops are sacrificed today, tell me why: (1) there is a President and staff still in Poland when COP publicly announced our exit months ago, (2) there are still two Presidents, one CEO and 13 VPs in Australia, (3) there are two GMs of corporate supply chain under the VP when your Cost Team said we were moving to a BU-centric model, (4) there still is an expensive, extremely retirement-eligible expat as VP of corporate HSE and (5) there still seem to be at least seven layers between CEO and the base of the pyramid?

Dude, you need to get your facts straight. Layoffs have been happening all week in Australia and in fact all year. Plus the LT isn't as large as you say, one pres and about 5 VP's.

Oh that is funny. Always on the beach with a drink in hand. The Australian co-workers are quite fun; drunk and fun.

Because they can never find them. They are always on the beach...

Have not heard of any layoffs in Australia, except for some contractors that were let go and a couple of expats repatriated back in April.
