Thread regarding Halliburton Co. layoffs

All seems quiet.

Isn't the 2 weeks up from Millers email? All seems pretty quiet. Maybe we are done for the year and then come January the shtf.

HAHA, you think because there was a deadline on it that it's over for now? You are ignorant! That deadline was only put in place so the financial adjustments could be made in time for the start of Q4. Get all the debt off the books for the start of a new quarter, call it "restructuring" and it'll all be good. I promise you that deadline had nothing more to do with it than that. There is a 'round' that will be executed the end of October as well. Managers are being told to "plan your business accordingly. While there is no formal direction with this round, you are encouraged to look ahead to the months of November and December. If you are busy now but know you will not be in the coming months, let's get EE's RIFd now so we aren't laying off in the Holiday months." Is that simple enough to understand?

They usually notify after you've done all your Christmas shopping.

Don't worry. Halliburton will send you an early Thanksgiving present in the form of a pink slip. Get ready to gobble gobble. And if you don't get early turkey in Thanksgiving. The stuffing train will come again in December when you will receive a lump of coal.

BOOOOOOOO. Party pooper. I think this is the last "market conditions" layoffs. Why else would miller put a time frame in place? It was a good leadership move. Putting a time frame in place so that people could relax once the period had expired. I agree this will not be the last of the cuts tho. Next round will be M&A related. IMO

Keep wishing. It ain't over! Stop getting your hopes up. This is not the first massive wave of layoffs this year. Surely won't be the last.
