Would like to hear stories about those laid off from EDMC / Art Institutes who are over 50 years old, Or, who are gay/lesbian. From what some have told me, over the past 2 or 3 years, seems to be a pattern - especially at EDMC headquarters.

I'm an instructor at Ai.
I've witnessed amazing instructors, not g-- nor over 50, being laid off for simply not attaining a Master's.
It's about credentials and experience (not so much skill) and jumping through the hoops to help Ai stay accredited, not Ageism and Homophobia.
Also handing out too many F's will get you on a list... for the next RiF.
they are not homophobic, claude brown is gay and he's the ceo/pres. of the art institute...personally i couldn't give a sh-- if claude was gay, but he IS a f---en a--hole, i got into it with him bcuz 1. he was very clueless in running a school, 2. he was cutting money from all the other departments to feed his favorite FASHION (which no body gives a sh-- about those pompus divas. All other departments think fashion students have their head up their assand DO bcuz the world can survive without their existence, yet they think that their "fashion" is the center of the world BUT it isnt! the animators/illustrators can fill their place, easy, so they need to stop thinking too highly of themselves ,most fashion ppl are narcissistic anyways) and 2. he pist off alot of students (including myself) with his BS and lies, if he got fired GOOD that'll teach him to sell out. and claude brown's fashion line is no fancier than going to forever 21 at the mall. & 3. he pist me off so bad i had to report his Lazy lying assfor investigation of shady asset handling. I dont give a sh-- if he's gay but he was a careless greedy CEO like any other. If he got fired then F--- THAT GUY he deserved it regardless homophobic bosses or not.

I know a guy they fired who was gay. Of coarse they did not say that out loud, they just found a way to push him out like all the others. And they did it right after they found out he was gay. He mentioned something in class and one student was not cool wit that and filed a complaint. Think about it, half the students if they are from America are from conservative families and voted for Bush during the anti-gay marriage stance. Now imagine telling them the school employs known Homosexuals. The kind that are out of the closet. You think that would really go over well with everyone in the entire school? Its still legal to fire someone for being gay in more then 27 states.
People hire people that look and think like them. Known sociological fact. In the case of EDMC," leave your conscience at the door", shiftless criminal types. Just like company spokesman Chris Hardman.
