If you are, let me ask about the whole stupid policy about back-in parking. Who on earth was the brainiac who dreamt up this nonsense? The average driver does a helluva lot better backing into an open lane from a parking spot than trying to back in-between two parked cars. I can drive forward between two parked cars all day long without hitting anything. Going forward is obviously the 'natural' way to drive. Asking someone to drive backwards between two stationary objects....well if I were a long-haul truck driver, I would say no problem. The fact that the only times I back-up in a day is out of my garage and then into a COP parking spot suggests I may not be as good backing up as I am driving forward. Why continue to challenge the masses with a more risky parking maneuver? Seriously, has anyone done a JSA on parking between two vehicles? Is it safer doing it forwards or backwards? When are people most alert? When they first get in their vehicles. That is when any backing up should be done. When are people most likely to have an accident? After they have already driven through traffic to get to work. Jesus, we already do a 360 so we'd be aware if we're going to back into anything.
Goddammit, this really pisses me off. Lay me off and I sure as hell won't miss this stupidity, treating us like kids.
