The contractors may not depart as expected. The stated goal is a reduction in workforce and the workforce is the employees and not the contractors.

No contractor reductions in our BU so far, just COP folks. Waiting to see when their hammer drops.
Contractors are released. Contractors do not receive compensation via ConocoPhillips. The contractors funded via projects are released with the end of the project. But contractors do exist to do the day to day work that otherwise would be done via employees. IT is a good example of an organization with a set percentage of contractor staff. The stated purpose was to release the contractors during the down cycle but the actual outcome is quite the opposite. The contractors remain but the employees were laid off. Clearly no leadership.
Yes, of course they are. And, rarely get any kind of severance, so it is even harder on them.
Well, contractors don't get laid off.......Their companies are told they are no longer needed. They theoretically still have a job.
But to answer your question, both are being let go. This week has been mostly employees.
Are you crazy! Many more contractors have been hired since the April layoffs. Many more will replace COP people after this layoff.
Many, if not most, contractors were laid off months ago.

Contractors are safe this round
